Parallelarator

Wet/Dry/Wet Parallel Effects Mixer

The Parallelarator is a compact all-in-one solution for implementing wet/dry/wet signal routing and parallel mixing without requiring any additional splitters/buffers or special cables. Everything needed is built into a standard guitar effect pedal sized unit, enabling it to be used on smallest of pedalboards.

It is the ultimate tool for creating versatile and complex effects chains, offering unparalleled flexibility and precision. Built with features that cater to both studio perfectionists and live performers, the Parallelarator redefines what a parallel mixer can do.

What is Parallel Mixing and Wet/Dry/Wet?

Parallel mixing is a signal routing technique where the original dry guitar signal is split and processed through multiple effect chains in parallel, rather than in series. This approach allows the unprocessed tone to remain intact while blending in effects to create a richer, more dynamic sound.

A wet/dry/wet (WDW) setup takes this concept further by routing the dry signal to one amplifier (or speaker) while sending the processed "wet" signals to two separate amplifiers. This configuration creates a spacious, stereo soundstage, offering clarity and depth without sacrificing the core tone of the guitar.

Why Use Parallel Mixing or WDW?
guitar player with ambient lighting
  • Maintain Tone Integrity: Keep your original dry tone clear and punchy while enhancing it with effects.

  • Enhanced Depth and Dimension: Achieve a wide, immersive stereo field for live or studio settings.

  • Greater Control: Blend wet and dry signals independently for precise tonal shaping.

  • Versatility: Perfect for diverse setups, from small gigs to large arenas, offering consistent sound quality.

Parallel mixing and WDW setups are ideal for guitarists seeking the ultimate balance of clarity, flexibility, and sonic creativity.

What is Dry Kill in Effects Units and Why Use It with Parallel Mixing?

Dry Kill refers to a feature in some effects pedals or units that completely removes the dry (unprocessed) signal from the output. When enabled, only the wet (processed) signal is passed through. This is especially useful in parallel mixing setups, where the dry signal is already handled separately by the mixing device, such as the Parallelarator.

What is the Parallelarator and why do I need one?

The Parallelarator is a compact, pedalboard-friendly solution for achieving true wet/dry/wet parallel mixing with your existing effects pedals and pedalboard.

Designed for ultimate flexibility and ease of use, it eliminates the need for additional components, buffers/splitters, specialized cables, or complex setups.

Perfect for musicians seeking studio-quality tone on stage or in the rehearsal room, the Parallelarator seamlessly integrates into your rig while maintaining pristine sound quality.

Controls

Stereo/Mono Switches

Allows the use of Stereo or Mono effects.
Switching a loop to mono routes a mono signal to both left and right outputs.

Footswitch
Allows Loop 3 to be toggled on/off during performances.

Dry Mix Control - controls the amount of Dry guitar signal that is mixed into the Left & Right (wet) outputs.

LED - Shows the status of Loop 3 (on/off)

Level Controls - adjusts the level of the effects pedal connected to it's corrisponding Loop that is mixed into the Left & Right (wet) outputs.

Loop 3 Phase Switch

Allows the loop 3 send to be switched out of phase, to correct phase issues with effect pedals which invert the guitar signal.

There any many ways the the Parallelarator can be connected, depending on the equipment that you have, there's no right or wrong way!

However, for optimal results, we recommend connecting the Parallelarator in the effects loop of your main amplifier as shown below:

when used with 3 Amplifiers (for full WDW):

Main (Centre) Amp Effects Send -> Parallelarator Dry Input

Parallelarator Left Output ->  Left Amp Effects Return

Parallelarator Centre Output -> Main (Centre) Amp Effects Return

Parallelarator Right Output -> Right Amp Effects Return

when used with 2 Amplifiers - Stereo

Left Amp Effects Send -> Parallelarator Dry Input

Parallelarator Left Output ->  Left Amp Effects Return

Parallelarator Right Output -> Right Amp Effects Return

when used with 2 Amplifiers - Wet/Dry
Dry Amp Effects Send -> Parallelarator Dry Input

Parallelarator Left Output ->  Wet Amp Effects Return

Parallelarator Centre Output -> Dry Amp Effects Return

if using a single amplifier

Amplifier Effects Send -> Parallelarator Dry Input
